XP Days Ukraine 2014 is done and we want to say it was amazing conference. Thanks a lot to speakers who prepared great talks and shared their practical experience. Thanks to our volunteers who helped us to organize everything with such level of quality. Thanks to participants who spent 2 or even 4 days with us getting new knowledge and experience. This conference happened because all of you was there!
As usually we processed your feedback and chose top 7 speakers. This year we tried new approach of taking feedback from participants via iPad application immediately after the talk is finished. So scoring system is even more simplified. The results are quite interesting:
- 1st place with 1.90 points goes to Sander Hoogendoorn and his talk “Beyond breaking bad. The current state of agile in ten easy lessons”. This is an expected result because Sander’s talks was quite popular.
- 2nd place with 1.83 points is taken by Victor Polischuk. His talk “Legacy projects: how to win the race” based on large practical experience in this area.
- 3rd place with 1.81 points is taken by Dmytro Mindra and talk “Refactoring Legacy Сode”. His amazing slides and presentations skills always work well.
- 4th place with 1.80 points goes to Eugene Krivosheyev with talk “A=F(?): How lack of common sense kills projects”.
- 5th place with 1.78 points goes to Sam Newman and his master-class “Practical Considerations for Microservice Architectures”. He is very experienced developer, author, speaker and XP practitioner so this is fare choice.
- 6th place with 1.77 points goes to Dmitriy Yefimenko for the talk “Continious Delivery for a complicated product”.
- 7th place with 1.75 points goes to Mikalai Alimenkou and his talk “Why testing take so much time?”.
We want to note that all speakers did their best and this competition is very informal. We prepared special form for participants to share their opinions about the conference program. Your feedback will affect the next year plans.
We started gathering conference materials including feedback reports, photos, slides. If you have something to share please contact us. Video will be available in December and published there as well.
Looking forward to see you at XP Days Ukraine 2015!
